Cafés in Singapore are becoming a common sight, yet there are still people who visit hunt for the ‘better’ cafés, either for an Instagram shot or to spend quality time with their loved ones. The coffee shops and tea houses that we will be introducing are not your typical go-to cafés, such as Starbucks or Coffee Bean. These are patronized and well-liked by the café go-ers in Singapore.

1. Walking on Sunshine

In a corner of Orchard Central lies a garden-themed café, Walking on Sunshine. It is a café cum beauty salon, which serves Western food with a Korean twist. The café also serves fluffy souffle pancakes and refreshing drinks such as Coconut smoothie coffee. Additionally, customers of the beauty salon will also be able to get a photo shoot in their own studio with professional equipment!

2. Lola’s Cafe

Lola’s Cafe’s honey wings are one of the must-try when you visit it. The café is located around Kovan and Hougang, and when someone asks for a café recommendation in the North East, Lola’s Cafe will definitely be mentioned. Besides the typical café food, Lola’s Café also offers a range of mouth-watering desserts, from ice cream to lemon meringue tarts to cakes.

3. PS. Café

Founded in 1999, PS. Café is a cosy one with its food being suitable for brunch, lunch, and even dinner! With 10 outlets in Singapore, it proves that PS Café is a successful one. At the Harding Road café, it offers a floor to ceiling window, which allows the greenery and sunlight to enter the café, thus making it feel warm and cosy.  

4. Plus Eight Two (+82)

Located in Rendezvous Hotel Singapore lies a Korean café which was opened by a K-pop idol, BTOB’s Eun Kwang. +82 refers to the country code for South Korea, and the café features IG worthy spots all around with its minimalist theme. The main offerings of the café are shaved ice, also known as bingsu, toasts, and more!

5. Cafe De Nicole’s Flower

Cafe De Nicole’s Flower is a garden-themed café which is visually aesthetic and also smells like a garden. The concept of having the flower scent is not a common one in Singapore, and this was what made it stood out from the other garden-themed cafes. Either fresh or dried flowers are included in all the desserts as well as drinks, which really made the experience for the customers an all-rounded one.

There is no shortage of cafes in Singapore, but one that offers both high-quality food and a good ambience is hard to come by. With this list, we hope that you will be able to find your go-to café, and do remember to bring your family and friends while popping by!
