Don’t let the COVID-19 virus prevent you from getting a good workout! Sure, gyms may have closed their doors temporarily, but that doesn’t mean this is the end of your gym buff days and being fit. It’s never an excuse to not shed off the extra pounds you’ll gain during lockdown!
Most gyms have already declared temporary branch closures even before the circuit breaker announcement. That left thousands of gym members losing their sweat destinations and lost on how they can continue their workout routines without any equipment or guidance from a fitness coach.
Luckily, technology has brought us more options so that people can still exercise and follow fitness routines at home through online fitness classes and virtual gyms! Gym companies, in particular, have joined this online bandwagon to keep the members moving and active at home. The best part of this is, it’s FREE!
- Fitness First Singapore is live-streaming some of its classes and workouts at their Facebook page, as part of their Fitness at Home series. No need to be a member, you can just check out their updated schedules. Join their Facebook events page if you want constant reminders of their live-stream classes. Their classes vary from Yoga, HIIT, Body Combat to Dance Classes. You can also try their fitness home challenges: workouts you can try using your home items and furniture as support and equipment.
- Pure Fitness SG – The best takeaway here is they’re streaming their classes on Facebook and Instagram the whole day! Classes start as early as 7 am and ends at 8.30 pm. The whole day schedule is packed, so anytime you want to work out, they got you covered. Start your day regular fitness and yoga routines at home!
- True Yoga/True Fitness – A late start in the virtual gym game, but still on time for the circuit breaker. They’re live-streaming HIIT, Dance, and Yoga online. What’s good is that you can also watch videos of warm-up, stretching and cool-down exercises, which are very important to learn!
- Virgin Active Singapore – Their full-length online classes are for the members’ eyes only, but they still offer a series of home workouts for non-Virgin Active members. The workout mini-series posted on their Facebook page is good enough to create your DIY routine!
Whether it’s a pandemic, a lockdown, or closed gyms, these should not hinder you from getting a good workout! At least, there are plenty of workout routines and ways you can try out to get fit while in the comforts of your home. Let us all stay fit, safe, and enjoy these online virtual perks while they are still free and available!
Your workout-from-home routine can start from watching online fitness classes, and virtual workouts, which are usually live-streamed on the gym brands’ social media pages. Overall, it’s free for everyone regardless if you’re a member or not. We’ve listed out a few options you can try during this lockdown period.
